“Since I walked in the door, I have been treated with nothing but love and respect. I can talk to anyone working at any time of day and night. Most of all, I have felt safe.” — FORMER CLIENT
A Safe Place to Stay
Substance Abuse Recovery in Pittsburgh
Pathway to Care and Recovery offers 14 private rooms for individuals who have completed the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Level of Care Assessment and are awaiting admission to a treatment program. These rooms are designated for those who are committed to treatment. This setting offers a safe, temporary, drug-free, smoke-free, and private sleeping area where youth, young adults and adults will receive support and supervision from the Pathway to Care and Recovery staff.
While at the Safe Place to Stay, you can engage in Pathway to Care and Recovery’s educational programming, case management and Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) services throughout the day and night, while avoiding environments that may trigger return to substance use.
If you are assigned to a Safe Place to Stay room, you will have access for up to 72 hours, during which time you will receive three hot meals, clothing, and assistance with personal necessities as needed, along with laundry and shower facilities. It is important to understand that these rooms do not serve as part of a treatment program. Additionally, there is a courtyard with green space that provides you with access to an outdoor calming area.
